#### PRIVACY POLICY

Your privacy is important to us.

It is Smarty's policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our website. Accordingly, we have developed this privacy policy in order for you to understand how we collect, use, communicate, disclose and otherwise make use of personal information. We have outlined our privacy policy below.

We will collect personal information by lawful and fair means and, where appropriate, with the knowledge or consent of the individual concerned.

Before or at the time of collecting personal information, we will identify the purposes for which information is being collected.

We will collect and use personal information solely for fulfilling those purposes specified by us and for other ancillary purposes, unless as required by law.

Personal data should be relevant to the purposes for which it is to be used, and, to the extent necessary for those purposes, should be accurate, complete, and up-to-date.

We will protect personal information by using reasonable security safeguards against loss or theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.

We will make readily available to customers information about our policies and practices relating to the management of personal information.

We will only retain personal information for as long as necessary for the fulfillment of those purposes.

We are committed to conducting our business in accordance with these principles in order to ensure that the confidentiality of personal information is protected and maintained. Smarty may change this privacy policy from time to time at Smarty's sole discretion.

This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their 'Personally Identifiable Information' (PII) is being used online. PII, as described in US privacy law and information security, is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. Please read our privacy policy carefully to get a clear understanding of how we collect, use, protect or otherwise handle your Personally Identifiable Information in accordance with our website.

#### DO YOU COMPLY WITH THE LIMITED USE REQUIREMENTS?

The Limited Use requirements have four elements:

Allowed Use: Developers are only allowed to use restricted scope data to provide or improve user-facing features that are prominent from the requesting app's user interface.

Smarty uses the user's gmail scope to understand which emails received are scheduling emails. Smarty uses the user's Google calendar scope to understand the user's free/busy times. Smarty uses the user's Google contacts to enable the usecase where a user can ask Smarty to schedule lunch with a contact, e.g. "Lunch with Jane next week".

It should be clear to Smarty's users why and how Smarty uses the restricted scopes' data that they've chosen to share with Smarty.

Allowed Transfer: Developers are only allowed to transfer restricted scope data to others if that transfer is (a) necessary to provide or improve user-facing features that are prominent from the requesting app's user interface, (b) to comply with applicable laws, or (c) a part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets of the developer.

All other transfers or sales of user data are completely prohibited. Smarty adheres to this requirement.

Prohibited Advertising: Developers are never allowed to use or transfer restricted scope data to serve users advertisements. This includes personalized, re-targeted and interest-based advertising.

Smarty protects your data and will never serve users advertisements based on your personal data. Smarty will never serve advertvisements in general.

Prohibited Human Interaction: Developers cannot allow humans to read restricted scope user data. For example, a developer with access to a user's data is not allowed to have one of its employees read through a user's emails. There are four limited exceptions to this rule: (a) the developer obtains a user's consent to read specific messages (for example, for tech support), (b) it's necessary for security purposes (for example, investigating abuse), (c) to comply with applicable laws, and (d) the developer aggregates and anonymizes the data and only uses it for internal operations (for example, reporting aggregate statistics in an internal dashboard).

Smarty is a fully automated application. No humans are reading user emails!

Additional Limits on Use of Your Google User Data: Notwithstanding anything else in this Privacy Policy, if you provide the App access to the following types of your Google data, the App's use of that data will be subject to these additional restrictions:

The App will only use access to read, write, modify, or control Gmail message bodies (including attachments), metadata, headers, and settings as well as Google Calendar data and settings to provide a web email client that allows users to more easily schedule with their contacts and streamlining the workflow and removing back and forth emails through automation. Smarty will not transfer any user data to others unless doing so is necessary to provide and improve these features, comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

The App will never use this Gmail, Google Calendar & Contact data for serving advertisements.

The App will not allow humans to read this data unless we have your affirmative agreement for specific messages, doing so is necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse, to comply with applicable law, or for the App's internal operations and even then only when the data have been aggregated and anonymized.

We use Google OAuth to have access to user email, contacts and calendar data, so that we may best help with user scheduling needs (through the use of reminders and task management). You can see a full video explaining an earlier usecas of user data with a scheduling example here: https://youtu.be/TH_xfy1A7oE

We do not share this information in any way unless initiated by the user. For example, if a user wants to share their calendar information with someone else. In that case, the user is prompted to approve the sharing of this information.
